2025
Clarendelle Bordeaux White
Tasting notes
Deep yellow colour with brilliant highlights – the signature of a warm and sunny vintage. The nose is elegant and expressive with delicate floral notes, going on to reveal a lovely aromatic ripeness marked by tropical fruit and grapefruit. Full-bodied aromas of apricot and stone fruit come to the fore with aeration. Starts out fresh and tangy on the palate, underpinned by crisp fruit. The mid-palate gains in body and richness thanks to excellent Sémillon and Muscadelle, unveiling notes of candied apricot, white peaches and ripe pear. The 2025 vintage boasts enticing volume, complexity and subtle buttery nuances which follow through to the lovely long finish. The overall impression is of an elegant and delicious wine enhanced by a wonderful balance between freshness and opulence.
Climate
The 2025 vintage will long be remembered as one of the earliest and warmest in recent years. The growth cycle began in ideal conditions, without frost, with bud break in early April and flowering in early June. The year was marked by an exceptionally dry summer with no rainfall for three months. The ripening of the grapes was accelerated by the summer heat. While the potential alcohol content appeared to increase quickly, physiological ripeness actually required a little more time to reach the right balance between sugar and acidity. Thanks to our consistent winemaking techniques, we maintain a style which is recognisable from one year to the next yet expresses the particularities of each vintage.
