Clarendelle Bordeaux White

Clarendelle Bordeaux White is inspired by the subtle structure of Domaine Clarence Dillon white wines, containing the unique mystery of its rare and illustrious cousins. Clarendelle Bordeaux White is a delicate blend of two traditional Bordeaux varietals, Sémillon and Sauvignon, to which, in some years, a flourish of Muscadelle may be added.

Tasting notes

This wine is a clear, brilliant and very intense golden-yellow colour. 2024 is an excellent year for white Bordeaux wines with a perfect balance between aromas, freshness and volume on the palate. Fresh aromas of acacia and lime blossom fill the nose. Starts out delicious on the palate with notes of white summer fruit, such as peach and pear. The overall impression is of a round, rich and full-bodied wine with apricot, honey and grapefruit overtones on the finish. All in all, a lovely balance between minerality and sweetness.

Climate

The particularly mild winter led to early bud break with no signs of frost. Flowering unfolded in good conditions in healthy plots! The summer was warm yet not overly hot, confirming hopes of a promising vintage. Cool nights led to the synthesis of aromatic compounds. This vintage is beginning to reveal itself: fruity, well-balanced and in keeping with the times. The months of September and October saw a succession of stormy conditions, cool nights, and sunny, windy days. This vintage reminds us of the importance of being able to adapt to the vagaries of the weather, whereby increased rigour is required at each stage of the production process.
An enjoyable, fruity vintage!
