2025
Clarendelle Bordeaux Rosé
Tasting notes
These wines boast a brilliant, crystal-clear salmon-pink colour. The nose is bursting with fresh fruit, opening with notes of mandarin orange followed by aromas of grenadine and raspberry. Floral hints of rose petal then come to the fore with swirling in the glass.
The aromas become even more concentrated on the palate, enhanced by notes of grapefruit, redcurrant and peach. There is a lovely balance between delicious saltiness and the sweetness of ripe fruit. The palate is round, concentrated, long-lasting and flavourful, revealing the distinctive smoothness of elegant and complex rosés in a very high-quality vintage.
Climate
The 2025 vintage will be remembered as one of the earliest and warmest in recent years. The growing season began under ideal conditions, with no frost, budbreak occurring in early April and flowering in early June. The year was marked by an exceptionally dry summer, with no rainfall for three consecutive months. Summer heat accelerated grape ripening. While potential alcohol levels rose quickly, physiological ripeness required a little more time to achieve the right balance between sugar and acidity.
The grapes used for rosé wines, mainly Cabernet Sauvignon complemented by Merlot, were harvested early (from 1 to 5 September) to ensure optimal ripeness while preserving freshness and lightness. Thanks to our consistent winemaking practices, we maintain a recognisable style from one year to the next, while still expressing the unique character of each vintage.
