At the
beginning of 2005, seventy years
after the acquisition of Chateau
Haut-Brion by Clarence Dillon,
his great grandson Prince Robert
of Luxembourg has announced
the creation of a new entity,
Clarence Dillon Wines.
Clarence Dillon Wines is a
Bordeaux negociant business,
whose main purpose is the creation
and sale of a new Premium Bordeaux
Wine by the name of "Clarendelle".
Domaine Clarence Dillon SA,
a French company owned by the
Dillon family, also owner of
what is arguably France's oldest
"luxury brand", Chateau
Haut-Brion, will thus be launching
a new wine which will share
this illustrious heritage and
unique philosophy.
"Clarendelle" will
seek its inspiration in the
quality of the Domaine Clarence
Dillon family of wines which
also include Chateau La Mission
Haut-Brion as well as the two
most renowned names in Bordeaux
white wine: Château Laville
Haut-Brion and Château
Haut-Brion Blanc.
This should prove an auspicious
foundation for the "Clarendelle"
wines, which will consist of
an elegant blend of Bordeaux's
finest traditional grape varietals
Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and
Cabernet Franc for the red and
Semillon and Sauvignon Blanc
for the white. This new range
of wines will be officially
introduced to the market in
June 2005.
Clarendelle's name is inspired
by that of Clarence Dillon.
A great grandfather from whom
Prince Robert learned the true
meaning of perfection. A promising
heritage for a new beginning!
